 Presentation Guidelines

ACM MMSys 2022 will be an in-person event, however due to the on-going prevalence of COVID-19 around the world we will be supporting both in-person and remote presentation options. We will provide a portal for you to upload your files very soon. Any questions please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Presentation Format – All Sessions

Every in-person attendee (for all MMSys tracks) will present on the main conference stage.  Details below outline the presentation format guidelines. 

Presentation Format:

  • PowerPoint file format(s) preferred; PDF slides also acceptable
  • Aspect ratio 16:9
  • On the first slide, it is recommended that authors introduce themselves, their affiliation, and the paper title.

Video Presentation format:

  • Videos should be in MP4 format
  • Videos should be 720p or higher 

Poster format & Information:

  • 1 page poster in landscape format.
  • You do not need to print a poster.
  • At the physical conference venue, each poster is shown on a TV screen.
  • If presenting a poster in person, you will need to bring your laptop (which has HDMI port) and you will share your poster on a TV screen that we will make available to you. If you do not have a laptop for this, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 07.06.2022.
  • If presenting a poster remotely, you will need share your screen (via zoom which we will configure and set up for you) so that your poster is visible on a TV screen at the physical conference.
  • Attendees in the physical audience can communicate with remote poster presenters the presented through a web cam and mic at the conference.

Research & Special Session Tracks

In-Person Presentation Guidelines:

Oral sessions are to be run at the main conference stage and will be live streamed. If you participate in-person, you will present your paper at the main stage.

  • Each paper will have 15 minutes to present followed by Q&A.
  • Deadline for submission of your ppt file is June 7th.

Remote Presentation Guidelines:

  • You submit two files: 
    • One PowerPoint file which contains your presentation.
    • The second file is your pre-recorded talk on your presentation slides, a video captured in PowerPoint.
  • Instructions for authors to create their videos are here.
  • The pre-recorded presentation video will be a max. of 15 mins in duration.
  • Deadline for submission of both files is June 7th.

 

Demo & Industry track, Open Dataset & Software Tracks:

In-Person Presentation Guidelines:

Oral lightening pitches will be presented at the main conference stage and will be live streamed. If you participate in-person, you will present your pitch at the main stage.

  • Submit two files:
    • Each paper will have 3 minutes to pitch their demo/industry or ODS paper.
    • For the poster session, we require a one-page poster in landscape format.
  • Deadline for submission of your ppt file and your poster is June 7th.

Remote Presentation Guidelines:

  • Submit three files:
    • One PowerPoint file which contains your presentation.
    • The second file is your pre-recorded talk on your presentation slides, a video captured in PowerPoint. Instructions for authors to create their videos are here.
  • For the poster session, we require a one-page poster in landscape format.
  • The pre-recorded presentation video will be a max. of 5 mins in duration.
  • Deadline for submission of both files is June 7th.

Doctoral Symposium Track:

In-Person Presentation Guidelines:

Oral lightening pitches will be presented at the main conference stage and will be live streamed. If you participate in-person, you will present your DS pitch at the main stage.

  • You submit two files:
    • Each paper will have 3 minutes to pitch their DS proposal.
    • For the DS poster session, we require a one-page poster in landscape format.
  • Deadline for submission of your ppt file and your poster is June 7th.

MMVE, NOSSDAV & GameSys:

In-Person Presentation Guidelines:

For full workshop papers, oral sessions are to be run at the main conference stage and will be live streamed. If you participate in-person, you will present your paper at the main stage.

  • Each paper will have 15 minutes to present followed by Q&A.
  • Deadline for submission of your ppt file is June 7th.

For workshop short papers, you will have the opportunity to provide a lightening pitch to encourage attendees to visit your poster.

  • Each short paper will have 3 minutes to present their poster pitch on the main stage.
  • For the poster session, we require a one-page poster in landscape format.
  • Deadline for submission of your ppt file and poster is June 7th.

Remote Presentation Guidelines:

How to Record a Video Presentation

  • PowerPoint: Instructions for different platforms/versions are here.
  • Zoom: Instructions are here. Make sure to perform local recording with at least HD quality.
  • Screen recording tools: Both Mac and PC platforms have built-in software for screen recording (mac/win).
